A grown straight man knitting, silly/weird/funny/normal ??

During Elizabethan times the States (government) of Guernsey had to p a law to stop people knitting too much. The trade in knitted hosiery was so lucrative that the whole island was knitting, man, woman and child, instead of doing their normal work and a lot of things necessary to keep the island running were being neglected.
