"Ist das die Merkel?"?

Ok, German people, what am I missing. I am a non-native speaker, and recently asked on a YouTube video who sang a certain version of "Pack die Badehose Ein" that was playing in the background of this video. Someone replied "Ist das die Merkel?" I cannot seem to understand what they mean. What does this have to do with the German chancellor, lol. Seriously, is this a popular music group (Merkel) or something, and they are suggesting they are the ones singing it? I couldn't seem to find anything that made sense on Google. Thanks!
