Is it ok to feed a 3 days newborn with 1 oz similac every 2 hours?

I have a newborn which i cannot feed yet, and i use the similac formula. Every aprox. 2 hours, the baby starts being agitated, sucking her hand, and crying so hard until she turn red. The nurse told me not to use formula less than 3 hours between feedings, but i dont know what to do, because the baby asks for it with the hunger sings, even if i check her for wet dipers. Brake caliper frozen, overheated new rotors and pads... Replace? Still safe?

I recently replaced the front brakes on my Altima and took it for a drive that was about 5 miles to "break-in" the new pads performing multiple easy stops at low speeds. To my surprise when I got back and looked at my penger side rotor it was discolored from heat but no smoke and I was able to touch the alloy wheel for a bit right after the ride before it became too hot to the touch. Question is now that the caliper is fixed, do you think this rotor is now unsafe due to the heat build-up or even the tire for that matter? The tire felt warmer than the drivers side tire but not hot. I am concerned about where the tire meets the wheel. I realize the pads may be glazed but I had read somewhere some light sanding should take care of that. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm prepping a few yards of fabric for my first pattern-based sewing project. In my instructional book, it says that I should first wash the fabric (a cotton shirting fabric) and to do so, I should trim the raw edges with pinking shears so that they don't unravel. Does this include the selvedge?? Because 1/5th inch of the selvedge looks a bit frayed. And if I have to trim the selvedge, how will I know after washing which side is the selvedge (so that I can cut the length along the selvedge) and which is not?

How does my acting career plan sound?

I have been wanting to become an actress for about 2 years now. I am 15. So right now I am currently in theatre cles. I took theatre 1 lat semester and theatre 2 this semester. So that's about nine months of theatre. Over the summer I am going to take lots of public acting cles to get my skills. So that is about 12 months of training which is a year. Then I want to continue cles for a few more months and around christmas time start doing community theatre. Then I will find an agent and work on head shots and putting my resume together. After about 6 months of community theatre I wil start auditioning for small roles in movies or t shows or commercials. Then when I feel that I am great enough, I will audition for bigger roles. I am aware that this doesn't happen over night. That's why I stretched this stuff out over some years. oh yeah I am also going to move to Los Angelous when I graduate and I am going to major in optometry and minor in performing arts because I also need a backup plan just in case acting doesn't work out. Woke up to newborn choking up!?

Starting my 7 mo old son on foods and not sure how. Any advice?

He has been formula feed thus far and it is time to start him on some foods. He's hungry ALL the time and the bottles alone just aren't cuttin' it any more. I started to give him some rice cereal, first just a little in his bottles, then a little more, and now it's pretty thick and fed with a spoon. I know I can start him on baby foods (veggies first in lieu of fruits to avoid him preferring the sweetness of the fruits) and keep on the cereal twice a day for the minerals they provide. I guess what I wonder about is how much formula should he be getting a day? Should I be mixing the cereal with formula and for how long. I currently do 2 scoops of formula, 4 oz water, and enough cereal to make it thick. How long should I do this for? Also, since the formula I use (Enfamil with Lipils) has DHA and ARA in it so should I be using a cereal with DHA and ARA in it or no? I mean how much is safe? Can too much be harmful? Also, when I start him on the veggies and fruits (one new food a week in case allergies arise I know what caused it) how should I adjust the formula and cereal usages then? I just want to do it right and I'm confused. It's been 8 years since I had a baby and things are a little different now! Also, is it okay to give my baby small amounts of plain water? I'm scared to give him more than 2 ounces in a day. I just heard a story on the news of a woman using extra water in her daughter's bottles because she wanted to make it last longer due to financial issues and her baby got water intoxication and nearly died in the hospital. I'd hate for that to happen to my son because I don't know how much is okay. He just acts so thirsty while and after I give him the cereal mixture and I'd hate for him to get constipated, I just feel like the extra water might keep his insides working a little smoother. Just in case it matters, he is 7 months old, 17 pounds 8 ounces in weight, and tall for his age and he hasn't cut any teeth yet (his sister was a late tooth bloomer too. She was almost a year old when her first popped through). Currently, he takes 6 or 7 ounce bottles every 2 hours (sometimes three) with one or two feedings of the cereal/formula mixture at 5 ounces each time followed by a little water to wash it down.

36 week Strep B Swab...?

Fines for a PUBLIC saftey Hazzard!?!?

i was in a mini mall and i was going down a flight of stairs and i fell down 5 stairs because they were wet. Nowhere around me, or in this mini mall was there a sign saying Wet Floors. In Little League Baseball, should an umpire be allowed to call a game for whatever reason they want?

Should an umpire be allowed to call a game if it isn't finished in the regulated amount of time? Little League rules state that a game ends after 6 innings or the umpire calls the game. Our local league implemented a time limit rule--games have to finish within 2 hrs. 15 minutes. If they don't make the time, the umpire is allowed to call the game. Isn't this a misapplication or misinterpretation of the original rule? I'm sure the intention of the rule allowing an umpire to call a game was implemented more for bad weather or a protest or a situation of that nature. I doubt it was implemented so a game could be rushed through before the six innings.

Pain on the right side of neck?

I'm not quite sure what happened, but about 2-3 hours ago, I was sitting down in my chair and I was slouching some. I believe in the process, I may have put my neck at the top right corner of the chair, it's some type of hard sewn like fabric, with the pole there at the end. I remember getting up and having immediate pain in my neck. I can feel the pain when I'm just looking straight forward, and as I gradually move to the right, it becomes more severe, and becomes almost unbearable at about 2-3 inches to the right. I can move my head all the way to the left while feeling almost nothing so it's definitely only on the right side.I told my mom about this, and she said it's probably just tight muscles or something, and she gave me some stuff called muscle rub to rub in around the area to try and ease the pain. This was about 30 minutes ago and there's no improvement. Also, if I make any sudden movements with my head in any direction, than I'll get a strong shot of pain on the entire right side of my neck. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be wrong? I'd really rather avoid the hospital, and she won't take me anyhow so I'm pretty much stuck. (Still under 18)

Bumps etc. in mouth...?

I have a question about these bumps in my mouth. They look and feel exactly like pimples on the skin, and they are completely painless. I don't know they are there until I feel them with my tongue. They only appear when I am stressed, which I have been very stressed lately, and then after a couple of days they go away. Everything I have read says they are harmless, and they are probably just a mild form of canker sores, and it is common to have something like that during a time of mental stress. However, I have this one bubble-like thing on the inside of my cheek that has been there for a few months now; it feels like those blisters you get on your heel when a shoe rubs the skin for too long. It is very small, but it won't go away. I am 16. Should I be concerned?

well i am not a guy whats going to happen after surgery you will feel pain but will get better. If you put it off it could lead into a serious situation. i say get the surgery and you can be out of pain maybe in about 6 weeks or you could not get surgery and it can lead into a life and death situation or maybe it will heal it self. listen to your first thought i say surgery although it's scary i have had 10 surgeries on my lower stomach the last 3 years and every time i am scared to death. i just had stomach surgery a month ago i chickened out three times lucky the surgeon accepted me back. and when i come to it is horrible but feel a lot better in a few weeks at least the pain goes away in a few weeks. Best way to sell MTG cards?

I played Magic the Gathering from 1997-2003 and I have a large collection of well kept mint cards that are just taking up space in my closet (some cards at the time were extrememly rare and worth 5-50 dollars per card - I don't know what it's worth now). I entertained the idea of putting up the rares as single auctions on an auction site like eBay, but that require so much time and effort to ship all of these. Is thier any easier way to do this? If not, how do I price cards for single auctions that have been out of print for almost a decade now. Waiting on hcg test results?

I am currently in my 6th week of pregnancy. Saw dr. on Monday and he said he wanted me to have HCG blood work done just to make sure my levels stay up due to miscarriages in my past. Took one on Monday and one today which is Wedsday and another one on Friday. Results are back from Mondays tests and dr has not looked at them and I haven't heard anything. I thought everything was fine but starting to get worried. I'm wishing for the best but hard not to think about what the tests say. I have had a good life, but a year ago decided after reading 'The Secret' as recommended by a friend, to use the Law of Attraction to bring more good things into my life. Why won't the car companies let us recycle?

It would be way more labor intensive to take everything apart down to the bare (rusting) car body and the rebuild with all new parts. Also it would create WAY more pollution to forge the MILLIONS of parts they would need to update the countless number of models on the road to day. Think of how many new parts they would have to make to accommodate all the different years. Someone else might want a new car (or should I say , SAME OLD CAR) in 19 years or 8 years or ?). When most people buy a new car they want something different and newer looking not just their same old rebuilt car. It's much easier and cost effective to just melt down the old body and start over. I doubt there would ever be plans to do this. Technology keeps advancing and you can't make a mountain out of a mole hill ( make a squared off 1980's style car aerodynamic by today's standards, not going to happen).

Social conditioning by itself came about because of the uniqueness of each and every individual who expressed themselves in a lot of ways that created all the "common inventions" that we now accept as beneficial. If we were to live back in the prehistoric times without all the conveniences that we grew up with, our behavioural patterns would still be a lot different owing to factors like: a) environment b)unique experiences of our parents c) genes. The environment is essentially the same since it's all trees and mountains and lakes, but different individuals "react" differently to the same stimuli, that in a sense creates a unique experience and is ped on to our offspring normally via our genes. Also, the parents themselves do some sort of "conditioning" by telling their children what’s right or not or what should be done or not, based on their unique experiences. So, even without social conditioning according to what you have mentioned, an individual will always instinctively express himself/herself totally different from other people. Wouldn't you feel bored if everybody has the same behavioural pattern or personality? Everybody was meant to be born different, one way or another, even twins cannot be essentially the same. It's what variation is all about. We were created that way and Nature has meant it to be so. Man also has a natural instinct of superiority based on what we have learned that we are practically on top of the food chain. It also means that we have learned to support this instinct because of the comparisons that we have made with other organisms. Based on this primitive knowledge, there will be inevitable changes in our behavioural patterns because of our tremendous ability to adapt to the changing environment that would inevitably make us advanced the way we are now.

Well I am not a teenager rather an adult, but I figured I'd chime in on your question. I think what you as a teenager have is very rare. That is, you are an individual. The thing about the media and society today, is that everyone expects you to fit in to the "norm" of society. Fitting in the norm is a good thing in terms of doing things in decency and in order, and not breaking the laws. However it isn't a good thing when you lose who you are. Basically from reading your comments, you are fine with you you are. Why should you fit in with what the world wants you to be? I'm not saying you should rebel against society and break the rules and live like an anarchist. That would be wrong. But I'm saying, be who you are. That is the problem with today's youth. They are caught up in looking like everyone else, or being someone else that they aren't themselves. Be true to who you are. You sound like a nice person. Don't change for anyone. Why does every online website,aka: mapquest & map24.com all suggest a route from starting from Toronto and then going all the friggin way to Detriot, then south? Why can't I find a route that crosses near say Buffalo and then head south. It seems a hell of a lot more logical to go through the state of NY from Toronto instead of going all the way to Detriot as suggested by these web-sites. Hopefully it's not just because of the I-75 route being so common and straightforward that people would drive an extra 2-4 hours on what is already a long drive.

Plus, the natural vegetation there is dominated by live oaks, cypress, and pine trees. Why don't people ever have that image about Texas?

Is My Grandma Going to Die?

My Grandma had a large cancer removed from her ascending colon about a year ago. Several lymph nodes contained cancer also. She had no evidence that it had spread anywhere else - liver , lungs and bones were scanned before the surgery. The oncologist felt that she was too medically fragile to get chemotherapy because she had 2 strokes right after the surgery. Now the cancer has come back in her abdomen. It is in her liver, but also spread all around the abdomen and is producing a lot of fluid. Is there any hope that she can be cured? If not, how long does she have to live? She is 91.

Spray on stone texture for counter?

I've use that, I don't think it would work well on a counter top. I tried it on a table and and surface that gets a lot of use it will tend to sort of chip off because of the rough texture. I don't think you can sand it either. I think an enamel spray paint and clear coat would last a lot longer.

I've had my guinea pig for over a year now. She is the second guinea pig I've owned (the first being a male named Squeaky who wouldn't shut up) and she has, to me, a very strange personality. She never wants to come out of her cage for one thing (even if she screams for attention, she runs into her 'house' and I have to remove it from the cage before she is able to be taken out) and she never moves once put on a soft carpet floor (even if I put her favorite food, carrots, three feet away, she refuses to move for over an hour and a half). Maybe this is normal for female guinea pigs as I've only had a male before, but I fell sorry for her. Her cage has nothing in it besides a small shelter, a food bowl, and a water tank. Does anyone know what kind of small toy I can buy a guinea pig with this personality? Her name is Gini Pigg by the way (I am so imaginative when creating names, aren't I?).

alright, so this is how i do my makeup. i use "REVLON Lash Fantasy waterproof" mascara & primer [two sided] on my top lashes. [i let the primer dry before applying mascara]. then i use only the mascara end for my bottom eye lashes. then i use "Maybelline unstoppable eyeliner, waterproof". before i apply all this i use my MINERAL WEAR powder under my eyes and all over my face. the problem is, when i get home from school and go to check on my face, all my mascara and eyeliner falls down under my eyes. it makes them look all black, like im tired. i usually dont touch my eyes at all, and it still happens. it looks REALLY ugly and only comes off with makeup remover. both the eyeliner and mascara/primer are waterproof! HELP?!?!

would it be possible to be having an outbreak and have a blood test come back negative. Since you're having an outbreak wouldn't there have to be a good deal a antibodies in your blood? Atleast enough to test positive. I had a scare about 2 weeks ago. There was a small red bump which looked like a razor bump but to be sure i went and got tested. The blood test came back negative but now i am reading that blood tests can come back negative even if you have it. From what i thought, it could come back negative if you have not yet experienced an outbreak and not enough time has ped since the initial contact with the virus. Basically what I am asking is, is it possible to have a negative blood test even if you are having an outbreak and the initial contact with the virus was about 2 weeks prior? i know it's kind of confusing but please help. Even after getting a negative blood test i am still so scared at the thought that i might have this virus. I know i should've used a condom... blah blah blah. That's not what I'm asking.
